Principal's Corner

December 1, 2019

PAAAS is off to a great start again this year! Our seventh graders continue to transition well to life in Middle School and our ninth graders are sailing through high school. During the first couple of months of school our students have been involved in many activities such as fundraisers, debate team trips, robotics meet, fun night, performances, Café PAAAS and a very successful and fun Hispanic Heritage Celebration.

We continue with our commitment to a hands on approach to learning through kinesthetic project based learning, which develops students’ critical thinking, problem solving, motivation, communication and cooperation skills. At PAAAS, project based learning is modeled through high standards for student behavior, applied learning, student choice, and continuous feedback.

Once again, as a community, we are hosting a Holiday Giving Tree. Please encourage your student to take a hand from the tree and to purchase the item that is listed on the hand. These items will be delivered to needy families throughout our community.

Tutoring is available to all students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. There is a 5:00 pm bus that takes the students to the district school that is neareAngela Bentost to their home.

Our Holiday Concert will be on December 11, 2019 at 6:30 pm at Clinton School. Please come out and support our students. Please review the calendar for other events occurring this month.

This year, the District will be participating in the 2019-20 Governor’s Teacher/Educational Service Professionals Recognition Program. The GEOY Program is designed to highlight educational innovation, student achievement, the rewards of teaching and important services outside the classroom environment that lead to student success. PAAAS is encouraging all stakeholders (Parents/Students/Staff/Community Members) to participate by completing and submitting a nomination form for both categories by December 13th. Nomination forms will be on our school website in the virtual backpack and in the main office for your convenience. The results will be tallied and the winners will be announced early in January 2020.

We look forward to you joining us in January for our PTO meeting where we will nominate and vote for our new executive board. Please rest and rejuvenate over the holiday break. I wish you a joyful Holiday Season!
