Principal's Corner

Welcome PAAAS Families:


It is with great pride and enthusiasm that we write this inaugural letter to welcome you to the 2020-21 school year! We hope you have enjoyed the summer recess and took the time to relax and reconnect with family and friends.


As we prepare to embark upon our 12th school year, there is reason to celebrate. Our collective effort to execute the PAAAS vision, to be New Jersey’s premier small learning community providing personalized arts and academic preparation for the 21st century student, continues to be recognized even in this new normal, “virtual learning.”


This year, there will be new faces among our student body as well as our faculty and staff. . We also welcome all new faculty and staff members and wish them much success. We all look forward to another exciting year with our scholars.


Just a few reminders:


  • The virtual school day begins at 9:00am and ends at 3:00pm. We will be following an A and B Day. A Day is period 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. B Day consists of periods 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Fridays every period meets.



  • All Plainfield Public School policies and code of conduct procedures will be followed whether we are virtual or in a brick and mortar setting.


  • This year we are encouraging parents to fill out lunch applications online. Please visit, click on the drop box “Quick Links” and select “Online Lunch Applications”. ONE FORM PER FAMILY, PLEASE! If you have a Direct Certified status (DC) DO NOT FILL OUT THE APPLICATION. If you are unable to complete the application online, you may pick-up an application in the main office - paper applications will not be sent home. Online lunch applications will be processed quicker!

  • If you have not signed up for a Parent Portal account, we encourage you to. Please visit our main office to sign up. The Parent Portal allows you to access your child’s attendance and grades and communicate with your child’s teacher from your computer or smart phone.


  • Your scholar is expected to sign in to every period on their schedule at the times the classes are being held. Attendance is mandatory as if we were in a
